Why Choose Us?
Not only do our students excel at the game, but they also learn about sportmanship and playing with integrity
District and State
Our student played a key role in the finals of under-13 girls Nationals finals and enabled the team to raise the cup!
District and State
We coached and selected the under 16 girls team for Kancheepuram District in the State Championship. Best Coach in TN awarded to our Head Coach. An under 18 girls player was selected for the State team and another of our students Captained Jr. NBA for TN and won the runners-up position.
We are ready to take you there with us. Come train with the Explorers!
Deliberate Practice for Skill Development
Deliberate practice refers to a special type of practice that is purposeful and systematic.
While regular practice might include mindless repetitions, deliberate practice requires focused attention
and is conducted with the specific goal of improving performance.
’21 cones’ is a variation of the drill ‘23 cones‘ which is a drill we do for high school level and higher. All players are in two teams and each time a player hits a shot, they’re awarded a cone for their team.
This is a great drill for incorporating footwork into a shooting drill that players will enjoy. Players perform a jump stop on receiving the pass from the coach, pivot around to square up to the basket, and then make a variety of scoring moves.
Chase Down Layups
Chase down layups is used to teach players to finish layups at full speed and with pressure. Since youth basketball is normally decided by which team makes more layups, this is a drill we use often.
This drill works on ball-handling and protecting the dribble. All players dribble around in a small area and the goal is to knock other players’ basketball out of the area while keeping ones own basketball alive.
Here, players aren’t allowed to hit the basketball of the other players away. Instead, the aim of the drills is to navigate through and dodge all the other players using dribbling moves and by being creative with the dribble.
Scarecrow Tiggy is a fun drill that involves everyone dribbling around trying to avoid two taggers. Players love this drill and it’s great for developing ball-handling skills.
Playing basketball is one of the best ways to get exercise and maintain a fun, active and healthy lifestyle. Whether you are just playing a quick game of hoops in your back yard or playing in the pros, we have something for you at Explorers!
Play with intent, play with Explorers!
Playing basketball is good for your brain. The benefits include: increased blood flow, which improves cerebrovascular health; the release of neurotrophic factors like BDNF, which stimulates the growth of new neurons; and the benefits of glucose and lipid metabolism which bring nourishment to the brain.

Ever since my child started playing with the Explorers, she is focussed in all of her school work, wakes up and gets ready by herself, and gained immense self confidence. Thank you Explorers!
My child is among the most recent to join the Explorers. Given how well trained the older students are, I'm confident that my son too will play well really soon. The coaching standard of the Explorers is A1.
